Welcome

Welcome to my Blog and more importantly my journey to rebalance my hormones!!

As a Nutritional Therapist it’s quite hard to admit that your own health is not in tip top condition but hey we’re all human!

So here I am acknowledging that recently I have felt like my own health is in need of some much needed TLC! I have therefore decided to take some down time from my Nutritional Therapy business to concentrate on my own health, with the goal being to rebalance my hormones. Although this is quite a personal thing I will be sharing my experience along the way.

The female body is a delicate balance of hormones (which are part of the endocrine system) and if one hormone is out of balance it can have a knock on effect on another part of the endocrine system. Following recent tests I have discovered that I have low oestrogen & progesterone levels, low T3 (the active thyroid hormone), an imbalance in the circadian rhythm of my adrenal hormone cortisol and high melatonin levels. No wonder I’m feeling a tad out of kilter!!

Symptoms I am currently experiencing due to these hormonal imbalances include prolonged periods (can be up to 10-12 days!!), fatigue, headaches/foggy head, spots and low mood/self-esteem. My partner, bless him, is putting up with a lot of moaning as you can imagine!

It’s hard to be objective looking at your own health so I recently had a Nutritional Therapy consultation myself with one of my course tutors who provided me with a nutrition programme to increase the production of my sex hormones and improve the conversion of my thyroid hormones (T4 to T3). My supplements have arrived today and so my hormone balancing journey begins….
